So let’s start with the name, shall we ?

Veet’s bar is and has been known as “THE GO TO SOURCE” for live music since our beginnings in 1998.

The name “Veet’s” is derived from a nickname that was given to our PROUD and Legendary founder and father and husband, Doug Previto. Previto became “Veet“ short for Pre”vito” one day, and the rest as they say is history. So no, there is no last name Veet. Veet is short for Previto but the history behind the name is long, and, a standard bearer for excellence !

Papa Veet

Hi folks, Doug here.
I’m the guy they call VEET and the namesake for Veet’s bar. Also known as Papa Veet. I have been a musician most of my life and playing the guitar is as normal for me as waking up is for you! It’s what I do and what I LOVE to do. I have played on my own and with some legendary names over the years, and yes, music is my life. Well, second life. Family is my first love, and together we decided to open Veet’s bar in 1998 so that as a family, we could provide an entertainment venue in which the true essence of live music could be enjoyed the only way it should be, with PASSION ! My many years of playing and touring made this a “No Brainer” decision, and since our early beginnings, we have started every day with the goal of making Veet’s bar the best possible choice for all of you fellow music lovers out there. And, shame on me if I don’t say that NONE of this would be possible, if it wasn’t for my amazing and supportive Wife…the Mrs. Veet !Yes, you’ll always see me at Veet’s either on the stage with my sometimes long hair flowing or simply walking around rubbing elbows with the Patrons and Friends I simply cherish. But always in the background somewhere with a keen eye, is the GLUE that holds all of us together!

Hi Ya’IL…I’m BABY VEET,
Gina Jo, a PROUD daughter who you see behind the bar or running around like that proverbial chicken with her head cut off as I strive to UPHOLD the reputation my family and this establishment has earned over the years. The Previto name is one that is well known and respected in this area, and that is something NONE of us take for granted !A great reputation must be EARNED, and everyone in the Previto family knows this, and from ALL of us, Papa and Mama Veet, Baby Veet and ALL the Previto siblings, we will NOT allow anything to tarnish the reputation we currently enjoy !As the “Baby Veet ” who feels SO BLESSED to be born in to this wonderful and FUN LUVIN’ family, I too go to work every day to make sure that we do EVERYTHING possible to make “Veet’s” the LOGICAL choice for music lovers and anyone looking to meet EXCITING new people and have an all around FANTASTIC TIME !

Mama Veet

Hello friends,
This is Mama Veet and I too, am so appreciative of your interest in Veet’s! I am known to be a humble woman who appreciates honesty and has a dislike for arrogance. However, if I may step out of character for a sec, yes, that’s an older photo of me back in the good ol’ days. But I just may have been a “hottie” back then, eh’ ?? Papa Veet tells me EVERY day that I STILL am ! And we ALL thank you for the YEARS of fun and memories that aren’t about to end any time soon ! I am retired from a long and successful career in local Government. None of us have to do this. We work as hard as we do because just like you, we LOVE music and we LOVE making OTHERS’ HAPPY! As a wife, I LOVE watching my husband “Papa Veet” living his dream by being intimately involved with Music, every day of his life! And what a joy it is to have our babies coming along for the ride!

Our Bar staff is THE BEST on the Gulf Shore and our knowledge and prices and personalities are what keep ya’ll coming back for more !

And of course, THE MUSIC !

We have live entertainment or music related happenings all during the week and every single weekend.

We ARE … HANDS DOWN … “THE” destination for the music lover AND the musician!

Musicians WANT to play here because they know that they will be taken care of, treated professionally, and they know that the ownership UNDERSTANDS them and what they are doing !

Music lovers want to “hang” here because we make sure the music is quality, from the musicians to the sound and the overall PHENOMENAL environment !

We have been a fixture in downtown Mobile, Alabama and are located in one of the historic buildings lining the west side of Royal Street on Mobile’s main Mardi Gras route. Our location and atmosphere make it … once again … THE FAVORITE among Mobile natives and visitors alike.

Another reason for Veet’s popularity, and there are many, is the fact that there’s ALWAYS something going on whether it’s a Birthday party, Surprise party, Work Related function, Holiday celebration, or a special event. We have a PRIVATE area upstairs, with Balcony which can be rented for a special occasion, and people RAVE about how special we make YOUR event! Click on the video to the right to see what we mean!
